Miguel is a Traffic & Revenue Advisory specialist with over 20 years of international experience in transport infrastructure, covering road, rail, aviation, ports and freight logistics. As a Senior Associate Director, he advises investors, concessionaires, lenders and public authorities throughout the lifecycle of transport infrastructure projects, supporting concession bids, asset transactions, investment due diligence, claims and disputes, and debt refinancing. He has particular expertise in Traffic & Revenue forecasting, Managed Lanes, toll roads and PPP concessions, delivering investment-grade analyses that support strategic investment and financing decisions.
Miguel holds both BSc and MSc degrees in Mechanical Engineering from NOVA School of Science and Technology (NOVA FCT). He also completed postgraduate studies in Logistics (MBA jointly delivered by IST, ISCTE and FEUP) and Enterprise Data Science & Machine Learning (NOVA IMS). His academic background has been complemented by specialised executive programmes in Transport Modelling (MIT, USA; PTRC, UK) and infrastructure financing and procurement through PFI/PPP schemes (UMI, Austria).
Throughout his career, Miguel has undertaken transport demand and operational performance analyses, tariff studies, competitiveness assessments and applied research projects funded by the European Commission. He has extensive international experience, having delivered projects across Europe (France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Portugal and Spain), North America (Mexico and the United States), Latin America (Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Puerto Rico and Uruguay) and Africa (Cape Verde, Mozambique and São Tomé and Príncipe). He is the author of 14 technical papers presented at industry events and international transport conferences.
