Michał Opała holds a master’s degree in civil engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico (IST) at the University of Lisbon. He has obtained a bachelor’s degree at the Warsaw University of Technology in the same field. He has a specialisation in Urban Planning and Transport. He developed knowledge in areas such as Railway and Road Engineering. In his master’s thesis, he analysed the evolution of railway infrastructure pricing systems for freight in Europe.
Michał Opała works primarily in transport modelling, including model development, calibration and analysis. He also supports decision-making processes through offer and demand analyses, traffic and revenue studies, and freight and logistics projects. His work includes data processing, workflow automation, and the visualisation and interpretation of results.
Before starting his master’s studies, he was involved in projects on road traffic and safety analysis and pavement condition assessment for the national and regional road administrations.
Throughout his career, Michał has worked with clients and projects from Europe, South America and North America.
