Laísa Braga Kappler

Consultant
Laísa is a member of the modeling team with experience in traffic engineering, highway operations, urban mobility, traffic impact studies, and microscopic traffic simulation

Laísa Braga Kappler holds a PhD in Transport Systems from Instituto Superior Técnico as part of the MIT Portugal Program. In her research, she evaluated the integration of Information and Communication Technologies to improve road traffic management through microscopic simulation. More recently, her research has focused on using Structural Equation Modelling to explore how these technologies address transport externalities to promote more sustainable cities.

At VTM, Laísa is a member of the modeling team, where she contributes to the development and analysis of transport modeling projects and traffic impact studies. She has collaborated on consulting projects in Brazil, focusing on traffic engineering and road safety for both public and private sectors. She has worked on studies involving road transport operations, traffic impacts, and urban planning. Additionally, she has experience with microscopic and macroscopic simulation tools and with active traffic management strategies.

Combining professional consulting and academic research, Laísa brings experience in road and urban traffic operations, planning, and impact studies. Her expertise in transport modeling and traffic simulation enables her to analyze mobility patterns and evaluate traffic management strategies.
