João Afonso Couto is responsible for the Aviation & Airports projects. With a Master’s degree in civil engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico, he specialized in the profile of Urban Planning, Transports and Systems. João began developing his knowledge in the airport sector through his master’s thesis, in which he built a simulation model for representation, analysis and presentation of improvement proposals for an airport baggage handling system.
As part of his projects, João had the opportunity to gain a broader vision of the transport sector in Europe and Latin America, having collaborated in several projects related not only to air transport infrastructures and services, but also to road and rail transport.
More recently, he has focused his activity and academic training mainly in the Airports & Aviation area, having attended a short course in Air Transport Policy and Planning at the University of Westminster.
In addition, since he has been the Project Manager responsible for the development of different studies in the airport sector, João complemented his training with a Post-Graduation in Applied Management at Nova School of Business and Economics (Nova SBE).
