George Hill is a Graduate Consultant with VTM. He holds a BASc in Civil Engineering from the University of British Columbia and is currently concluding an MSc in Transportation Systems at Instituto Superior Técnico in Lisbon, with a thesis focused on transit facility design. His studies combine transport engineering, data analysis and urban planning.
At VTM, George contributes to transport research, traffic and revenue forecasting, transport modelling and spatial analysis, drawing on skills in PTV Vissim, GIS, Excel and R. His work supports the assessment of transport systems and infrastructure options, informing planning and investment decisions.
George’s professional and academic experience in Portugal spans from road design and pavement assessment to transit planning, mobility studies, and traffic engineering, including advanced micro-simulation models. In Canada, he has worked on forest road engineering and municipal development engineering. This mix of modelling and design gives him a practical understanding of how studies translate into built infrastructure.
