Ana completed her PhD in Transportation Systems in 2023 as part of the MIT Portugal program. She developed a business model and simulated the operation of a “car-sharing with autonomous vehicles among peers” solution in a future urban mobility scenario. Ana was also a visiting researcher at the MIT Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Lab. She holds a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Transportation, Planning, and Management from Instituto Superior Técnico – University of Lisbon.
Ana began her career in 2009 working on road infrastructure projects, where she was responsible for road design and later, coordination of various project specialties. More recently, she shifted her focus to sustainable mobility projects. In recent years, she has been involved in analysing a shared mobility solution in condominiums and in the development of a Mobility Plan that defines a medium and long-term strategy for a more sustainable mobility system.
In recent years, Ana has been working with the academic research group U-Shift on current mobility topics, gaining knowledge and critical thinking skills.
