VTM welcomes Oriol Riba and Alessandra Bernardi

VTM is pleased to announce the addition of two highly experienced professionals, Oriol Riba and Alessandra Bernardi, further strengthening our capabilities across infrastructure advisory and transport modelling.

Oriol Riba joins VTM as a Senior Associate Director with more than fourteen years of experience in the infrastructure sector, with a strong focus on transport and additional exposure to energy and social infrastructure. He holds a master’s degree in civil engineering and has spent over twelve years in London, working both in leading advisory firms and within a major authority-operator.

Throughout his career, Oriol has been involved in all stages of the project lifecycle, including strategy development, scheme assessment, procurement, M&A, and operations. He has advised a wide range of clients—authorities, operators, lenders, and investors—and has extensive experience in technical and commercial due diligence, including cost, demand, and revenue forecasting. An accomplished transaction project manager, Oriol brings a strong understanding of investor requirements, enabling him to lead advisory teams and deliver high-quality outcomes on time. He has also acted as procurement advisor to public authorities on PPP schemes, bridging public and private sector needs to support long-term project success.

Alessandra Bernardi is a Senior Consultant at VTM and a member of the firm’s modelling team. She holds a master’s degree in civil engineering with a specialisation in infrastructures and transportation from Politecnico di Milano, where her academic work focused on airport capacity, complemented by an internship in transport modelling.

Alessandra brings solid experience in transport modelling, including network development, matrix estimation, and model calibration and validation. She is highly proficient in the most widely used transport modelling tools and programming languages. Prior to joining VTM, Alessandra spent six years at an engineering consultancy in London, contributing to a wide range of UK transport projects. Earlier in her career, she worked in Italy on a European Commission project, gaining valuable international experience from the outset.
